Terms of Use and Disclaimers
Last updated: 27 October 2026
BarDeck is a Mac app made by Steven Muir, an independent developer. By installing or using it you agree to these terms. Please read them with the Privacy Policy.
Licence
When you buy BarDeck you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on the number of Macs stated at purchase. You may not copy, resell, share or publish your licence key, or remove or bypass the licence check. The app is licensed, not sold, and remains the property of the developer.
Free trial
The trial version lets you try BarDeck before buying. It may be limited in features or time, and may change or end at any time.
Purchases and refunds
BarDeck is a one-off purchase with no subscription. Payments are handled by our payment provider, which acts as the seller of record. If BarDeck does not work for you and I cannot fix it, contact me within 14 days of purchase for a refund.
Updates and support
Updates are delivered through the app. Support is by email through the Support page, on a reasonable-endeavours basis. I may change or discontinue features.
Disclaimers
- No warranty. BarDeck is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. I do not promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from use of the app. My total liability is limited to the price you paid. Nothing here limits any rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
- Automation. BarDeck can press keys, run shortcuts, open apps, files and links, and run scripts you configure. You are responsible for the buttons you create and what they do.
- Third-party data. Optional features such as stock prices, now-playing information and weather rely on third-party services and apps (for example Yahoo Finance, Sonos, Apple Music, Spotify and Qobuz). Data may be delayed, inaccurate or unavailable. Stock prices are for information only and are not financial advice.
- Trademarks. Apple, Mac, macOS, Touch Bar, Sonos, Spotify, Qobuz and other names are trademarks of their owners. BarDeck is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights in your country.
